Benefits of Direct to Garment Printing

DTG Direct to Garment PrintingBenefits of Direct to Garment Printing

While many people believe that screen-printing is the best and most cost-effective option for printing garments, this isn’t always the case. In many instances, screen-printing is more expensive and limiting than other methods, such as direct to garment printing (DTG).

Detailed, Full Color Printing

DTG printing allows full color images and designs to be printed directly on shirts, bags, fabric, and more. Stranger Prints uses eco-friendly, water-based inks in our direct to garment printer. Our printer create gorgeous, detailed designs in just one pass. This eliminates the hassle involved with changing screens and reloading equipment.

The price of DTG printing remains the same, regardless of the detail or number of colors in a design. The only factor affecting the cost is the color of the garment being printed. Dark colored fabrics require a white undercoat in order for the printed design to stand out. This adds minimal cost to the total price of printing. Colors and details do not need to be removed in order to stay within budget.

No Minimum Order

It takes a considerable amount of time and effort to screen-print shirts. This is why screen-printers typically require a minimum order. With DTG printing, there is no minimum number of garments to purchase. Although larger orders are possible, DTG is ideal for customers that need between 1 and 100 garments.

The screen-printing process makes it difficult to create designs with lots of detail. Often details and colors must be removed to improve visibility and reduce the cost of screen-printing. A DTG printer prints images exactly as they are designed. This allows for an unlimited amount of color and detail.

Softer Garments

A DTG printer prints images directly on your garment. DTG inks bind to cotton fibers, making the design feel like part of the fabric. This produces a soft garment without the heavy or thick feeling commonly associated with screen-printed shirts.

Stranger Prints offers high quality direct to garment printing for orders of all sizes. DTG printing is available for t-shirts, sweatshirts, canvas bags, fabric, and more. Please contact us for more information.
